This & That, Over There

Ohai! Here are some things I've been talking about at my annarbor.com gardening blog:

~ Make your own suet cakes for birds
~ Survive the long winter as a gardener
~ Learn how climate change will affect our gardens
~ Rebloom your amaryllis in six easy steps
~ Try something new in your garden this year ('cuz 2011 is gonna bring it!)

Thanks for all your wonderful comments on my last post. I'm trying to keep the blog alive, thanks to some ideas many of you have given me.

This photo is gratuitous, but if you're interested in growing grass indoors for your cats, it's entirely cheap and easy, and cats love it.

  4. Hi Monica, I was thinking about you the other day. I was in the garden centre looking at seeds and a variety of nasturtiums caught my eye....Of course, you came to mind and your lovely 'nasties' posts.

I gave my friend a packet of cat grass seeds but she never grew it......

Hope you are well and happy...

  5. Amaryllis. Oh! We have one in a box that didn't get planted in its pot.

The grass. Of course, that lands up being very interesting.

I like grass and think it's a wonderful idea to bring it to prominence in a window box with the light shining through. (Until it flowers. Then I'd sneeze.) But - how do you stop cats getting up and onto it? Upright grass in pretty. Squashed is not.

    Happy latest blog post.

  6. Good to see you here again Monica. Your cat looks mighty happy with that lovely stand of grass. I would like to see green grass like this too.

  10. Hallo Monica

  12. So glad to have you back, Monica! I still haven't tried growing cat grass, and I'm not sure why I haven't. I'm sure Toby and Tarzan and the gang would enjoy it just as much as Jimi does.

I've been gone and been busy....but the Flower Show looks like a go!
