  1. How exciting, Monica! After all my moaning about my crocus bulbs not coming up, I've seen several just popping through this week. We must have the later varieties:)

  2. Oh, and I'm glad you are enjoying the Guernsey LAPPS; have you finished it yet?

  3. Yeah for the crocuses! Soon you'll catch up to your neighbor's crocuses and pass them!

  4. No words needed, it's beautiful.

BTW, thanks for supplying the tips and comments on the new seeds I'm experimenting with. I cannot wait to see the huge selection you grow.

  5. I didn't know they could be yellow. I thought they were only in purple. Learned something new...Michelle

  6. Ich liebe die gelben Krokusse, sie sehen so fröhlich aus und sind ein untrügliches Zeichen, dass der Frühling (doch) kommt!
    Liebe Grüße, Monika

  9. Whoppee! The first bloom of spring. Maybe if I'd thought to plant some last fall, I'd have some blooming now too. :}

  11. Whoot! First bloom.

I wonder if I might have some blooming. Too bad I'll have to clean up a brush pile to find out. I lost a Maple tree this winter and the remains are piled on the only spot I had Crocus.

  12. Rose,
I always plant large clumps of crocus but only a few come up in each area--I think it's rabbits eating the heads/leaves more than squirrels rearranging. Yes, I've finished Guernsey LAPPS and liked it. Thanks for the tip!

    Tina,
Yay, crocus (there is just the one so far)!

    Marnie,
I have nine flats and one milk jug winter-sown... it'll be a while before I see any seedlings, but... not too long!

    Rambling,
I have yellow, purple, and purple-and-white-striped crocuses; this one is the only one that's up yet.

    Linda,
    Yippee!

    Monika,
Ja, ich finde auch dass Krokusse sehr freundlich aussehen!

    Anna,
    Woo hoo!

    Phillip,
I actually prefer the purple but at this point, any color is A-OK!!!!

    Peri,
Thanks and she is my FIRST (and only so far) bloom!

    Bek,
LOL, der Fruehling wie bei Dir ist noch etwa 3-4 Wochen weg, aber es faengt so langsam an!

    Beckie,
I feel about hellebores as you do about crocus!

    Shady,
But I *did* hear you! :)

    FAZ,
We love spring, too, though we go out all year. ~James and Fiona

    WiseAcre,
Crocus are pretty hardy, so hopefully you'll see some when you return and clear the maple remains.

    ~Monica
